About the Apartheid-Free Communities Leadership Team

Our Apartheid-Free Communities Leadership Team serves to resource, engage and develop Apartheid-Free Communities. Because of the contextual nature of communities living out the pledge in their own ways, the Leadership Team functions in a support role, developing materials, connecting people with shared strategies, and communicating the needs and successes of different communities within the network. As the Apartheid-Free Network expands, Affinity Groups are emerging to connect regional and other partnerships. These Affinity Groups play a crucial role in networking and equipping communities for action. The Leadership Team consists of staff from AFSC and a team of leaders active in the network, including representatives from each Affinity Group. Their goal is to grow and strengthen the network to take action, ensuring it has the resources available to do its work. Read below to learn more about each of the Affinity Groups that make up our Apartheid-Free Leadership Team!

Apartheid-Free Churches is a coalition of Christian and Christian-affilitated signatories working together to end Israel’s apartheid, genocide, settler colonialism, and military occupation. We invite churches and other Christian communities to partner with us in using our prophetic voices to support Palestinian liberation and to respond to the Palestinian Christian calls put forth by Kairos Palestine. We acknowledge the ways in which Christianity has been co-opted by Christian Zionism and understand our responsibility to challenge corrupt theology and re-orient the church toward the work of freedom, justice and equality for Palestinian people and all people. We meet monthly to network together, support one another, and strategize how to engage in collective action rooted in our shared faith tradition. To learn more, reach out at info@apartheid-free.org.
