Apartheid Free Communities BC Chapter was formed in 2024 by activists in BC and is a member of the Apartheid-Free Communities coalition which formed in the US in 2022 following the emerging consensus among the international human rights community that Israel’s treatment of the Palestinian people amounts to the Crime of Apartheid.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and Indigenous peoples across the world whose struggles are connected to the root issues of race-based supremacy, colonialism and paternalism. Our efforts are rooted in dismantling apartheid where it currently exists and creating a world that will never again tolerate the crime of apartheid or the existence of apartheid states. 

We actively work to expand a growing a network of pro-humanity communities across BC and Turtle Island who oppose apartheid and racism in all its forms by taking a public pledge to affirm their commitment to freedom, justice, and equality for the Palestinian people and all people; to oppose all forms of racism, bigotry, discrimination, and oppression; to declare themselves an Apartheid-free community, and, to that end, pledge to join others in working to end all support to Israel’s Apartheid regime, settler colonialism, and military occupation.
