Apartheid-Free Churches Affinity Group

Apartheid-Free Churches is a coalition of Christian and Christian-affilitated signatories working together to end Israel’s apartheid, genocide, settler colonialism, and military occupation. We invite churches and other Christian communities to partner with us to use our prophetic voices to support Palestinian liberation and to respond to the Palestinian Christian calls put forth by Kairos Palestine’s A Dossier on Israeli Apartheid: A Pressing Call to Churches Around the World and A Moment of Truth: Faith in a Time of Genocide. We acknowledge the ways in which Christianity has been co-opted by Christian Zionists and understand our responsibility to challenge corrupt theology and re-orient the church toward the work of freedom, justice and equality for Palestinian people and all people. We meet monthly to network together, support one another, and strategize how to engage in collective action rooted in our shared faith tradition.

Apartheid-Free Churches was created in 2022, in response to the emerging consensus among the international human rights community that Israel’s treatment of the Palestinian people amounts to the Crime of Apartheid, as well as specific calls from the Palestinian Christian community to the international church to take action.
